1. Coordination of Australia's Participation in International Standards Development

To ensure the integrity and effectiveness of Australia's participation in International Standards work, Standards Australia acts as the coordination point for Australian representation at International Standards meetings. This includes:

• Ensuring that stakeholders are informed about opportunities to participate and the benefits of participating in International Standards work.
• Receiving and reviewing nominations for delegates representing Australia at international Standards meetings. This includes ensuring all delegates are supported by a balanced group of Australian stakeholders.
• Administering the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) funding that subsidises delegates' attendance at international meetings.
• Providing guidance documents and training to assist delegates attending international meetings. These include:

• SDO Procedure 3 -Nomination and funding to attend international meetings
• FORM - International Delegates Meeting Report Template
• FORM - Nomination and Funding Application for International Meetings 

2 . Standards Development Support

• Standards Australia's National Sector Managers can assist organisations to identify the most appropriate pathway for developing an Australian Standard.
• Standards Australia assists organisations seeking accreditation as an SDO. While the accreditation process is overseen by the Accreditation Board for Standards Development Organisations (ABSDO), the Standards Australia acts as a facilitator, enabling organisations to understand the Australian Standards development landscape.
• Standards Australia has developed a series of guides to assist organisations with the registration, development, approval and maintenance of Australian Standards. These include:

• Standards development projects
• Access to Australian and International Standards
• Numbering of Australian Standards
• Guide to Net Benefit
