Careers

Working at Standards Australia is a unique experience. Our staff often report that their minds are broadened by the Standards and projects they come into contact with. The work of our committees is being used by thousands of Australians, consciously or subconsciously, in their daily home routines or working lives.

We currently have about 100 staff located in our central CBD Sydney offices. As such, we are not too large and not too boutique. This allows space for a little creative licence when it comes to career management. We have a number of staff who have moved through the organisation transitioning from roles between administration, project management, sector management, business analysis and leadership.

We are committed to ensuring that each individual has a customised career development plan and wherever possible we match training and learning opportunities accordingly. We regularly up-skill our managers as coaching is a key ingredient when nurturing talent.

When recruiting we are very particular in ensuring candidates are aligned to our organisational core values known as iCARE (Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence). Being adaptable, keen to learn, proactive and confident will work well in our environment.

Our investment in staff is important to us. As such the resourcing process is exhaustive and includes several panel interviews, psychometric testing, skills assessment and reference checking.
