Fees

From 1st January 2015 the accreditation fee structure changed. The old volume based fees were replaced with a single accreditation fee and a publication fee.
 
Accreditation fee
The base accreditation fee is the same for all accredited SDOs. This will be billed in advance at the beginning of each calendar year. It contributes to the cost of running the accreditation function and providing support to SDOs. For the first five years the rate will rise at approximately 10 % per year (this includes any CPI rise), and subsequently in line with the CPI.

Publication fee
Each standard published will attract a fee of up to $250. This can be considered a licence fee for the use of the logo and mark and is returned to Standards Australia. This fee will be billed retrospectively and will cover the number of new or revised standards published in the previous calendar year. It will not apply to amendments or reconfirmations.
 
The fee will remain the same for the first five years (i.e. 2015 to 2019) and will thereafter rise at CPI rates. A discount will apply to the rate according to the number of standards published within the calendar year.

Audit Fees
Audit fees are charged at the following rate:
 
  • $1,040 per day per auditor, plus expenses and GST.
This broadly reflects the commercial rate for auditors performing similar functions (e.g. JAS-ANZ auditors). The rates are subject to change in line with market conditions. The Standards Development and Accreditation Committee (SDAC) does not retain any of this fee and it is levied purely on a cost recovery basis.
 
Application Fee
A non refundable application fee of $1500 will apply. This needs to be finalised prior to formal acceptance of the application by the SDAC.
