Responsible AI Training
in Southeast Asia
World’s first Artificial Intelligence Management System standard
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a critical technology for organisational leaders to consider in 2025. However, many leaders across Southeast Asia and Australia are unsure about where to start. They have questions about how to engage with AI, where it may be most beneficial, and how to weigh up its benefits against the risks.
Under the governance structure of the International Standardisation Organisation (ISO), experts from 45 nations have developed the AI Management System standard (AIMSS). This framework helps leaders make informed decisions about AI, managing both risks and opportunities while balancing innovation with governance.
The AIMSS provides guidance on establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an AI management system. It is applicable to organisations of all sizes, whether they provide AI-based products or services, or use them.
The AIMSS is the first of its kind global standard, addressing unique challenges posed by AI for organisations, including ethical considerations and transparency. It best enables organisations to demonstrate responsible use of AI.

Australia, ASEAN, and AI
A secure, innovative, and inclusive digital future, with trusted digital services, strong cybersecurity, and protected consumers are objectives common to Australia and ASEAN.
As part of this, Australia is committed to responsible AI. Strengthening digital cooperation between ASEAN and Australia, Standards Australia, in partnership with the Australian Government, is delivering Responsible AI Training on the AIMSS throughout Southeast Asia.
These series of workshops on implementing AIMSS builds on an existing program Standards Australia has been running with Australia’s National AI Centre.
Taking this training program to our near neighbours supports wider engagement with responsible AI, and digital transformation across the region.
