Advancing standards through digital innovation across the region

October 21, 2025

Statements

From 21 to 23 October, Standards Australia will host 30 delegates from government, industry, and National Standards Bodies across the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA) for the Digital Transformation in Standards Development Regional Workshop.

This event brings together representatives from Australia, New Zealand, and ASEAN member states. The goal is to strengthen collaboration and support the digital transformation of standards development, which plays an important role in improving regional trade and the effectiveness of standards organisations.

The workshop offers an opportunity for participants to share experiences and insights, learn from one another, and build capacity across the region. Key focus areas include:

  • Sharing best practices and case studies to support digital transformation
  • Exploring tool sand frameworks for digitising standards development and implementation
  • Improving accessibility and inclusivity in standards processes
  • Enhancing how standards are delivered and shared through digital platforms
  • Strengthening long-term standards management using data insights and stakeholder feedback

This three-day workshop is part of a year-long project and reflects Standards Australia’s ongoing commitment to the Southeast Asian region, and to the international standards community.
