Former Standards Australia CEO Dr Bronwyn Evans recognised on Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2021

Former Standards Australia CEO Dr Bronwyn Evans has been recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant services to engineering, to standards and to medical technology as part of  the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2021.

Dr Evans served as CEO of Standards Australia from October 2013 to March 2019. In her five and a half years at Standards Australia, Dr Evans was influential in creating processes and streamlining the development of standards to create a long-lasting and positive impact on Australian life. During her tenure, Dr Evans also served a two-year governance role as the Vice President of Finance for the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

As the current CEO of Engineers Australia, Dr Evans’ ties to standards and their development remain close. Spending more than 35 years in and around the engineering industry, she has held executive level roles at GE Healthcare and Cochlear, as well as various board appointments including John Holland Limited and the Medical Technology Association of Australia. In 2014 and 2015 Dr Evans was recognised as one of Australia’s 100 most influential engineers, and in 2016 she was acknowledged as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence.

“Dr Bronwyn Evans’ contribution and commitment to the world of standards will continue to influence both the industries that help develop standards and the people who contribute to their development. As an engineer, businesswoman and CEO, her leadership will have positive effects on generations to come.
