Vale Murray Teale

We acknowledge with deep respect the passing of Murray Teale, an outstanding contributor to the development of standards in Australia and internationally.

Murray’s dedication and vision were extraordinary. He championed world-first projects, including the development of optical fibre system test methods adopted globally, and led the creation of critical AS/NZS standards. His leadership in modular plug terminated link (MPTL) standards and advocacy for safety and security in network infrastructure exemplified his forward-thinking approach.

Beyond his technical achievements, Murray was a trusted advisor, mentor, and industry leader. His commitment to standards extended far beyond business interests, he invested significant time and energy to ensure best practices, safety, and innovation for the benefit of all Australians.

Murray’s passing is a profound loss to the standards community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
