Upcoming In-person Workshop
International Standards Cooperation in Renewable Green and Clean Energy – Regional Workshop
Wed, 10 June & Thu, 11 June 2026
Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, 317 Outram Road
This two‑day in-person event builds on previous virtual workshops and aims to strengthen cooperation among AANZFTA member economies in the renewable energy sector. The program will highlight the benefits of adopting and harmonising international standards to support increased trade, investment, and the uptake of emerging clean energy technologies across the region.
Participants will explore the current renewable energy standards landscape within AANZFTA, examine existing implementation challenges, and contribute recommendations to advance standards harmonisation and cross‑border energy collaboration. The workshop is designed to facilitate meaningful dialogue, enable stakeholders to share national experiences, and strengthen collective capability.
This event is intended for National Standards Bodies, government representatives, and industry stakeholders working in renewable energy. If you are based in Singapore and interested in attending, please contact InternationalProjects@standards.org.au.
Project Purpose
The project will run from July 2025 – June 2026.
Project Scope
What are the key deliverables or activities involved? What is the timeline for the project?
The key deliverables include:
- A research report outlining the renewable energy landscape and current state of international standards harmonisation across AANZFTA
- 3x virtual workshops exploring use cases of renewable energy in the region, the enablers and barriers to uptake
- 1x in-person regional workshop to discuss standards role in the energy transition and opportunities for standards cooperation and hamonisation to support trade and investment
- A final report which brings all these insights together, alongside recommendations for further activities to enhance investment and trade in the renewable energy sector
Project Outcomes
What are the expected outputs? What will be achieved by the end of the project? Are there long-term outcomes we hope to influence?
The project aims to help participants:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of international standards in renewable, green and clean energy technologies
- Improve capabilities to identify, adopt, and implement standards across renewable energy technologies and industries
- Provide opportunities to engage with AANZFTA parties and Australian industry experts alongside key organisations within the renewable energy sector
- Take the insights gained from the workshops to their home economies, contributing to tangible improvements in trade and investment outcomes in the sector
- Contribute to recommendations for the sector in the region, driving the direction and approach to harmonizing renewable energy standards
