Standards Australia Training Terms
- These Standards Australia Training Terms govern the use of Standards Australia’s training and professional education offerings and platform, and are to be read together with the General Term and Conditions (GTCs).
- 1. Terms of Service
- 1.1 By purchasing a Training Course and accessing and using the SA Training Platform and the services and information offered on it, you agree to these terms.
- 1.2 These terms shall prevail to the extent of any inconsistencies with the GTCs.
- 2. Definitions
- CPD means Continuing Professional Development.
Services means the online training, eLearning, and related educational services (including the Training Courses) offered through the SA Training Platform.
SA Training Platform means the learning management system designed to deliver Training Courses.
Standards Australia or SA or we/our/us means Standards Australia Limited (ABN 85 087 326 690), including its employees, officers, agents, and assigns.
Training Course means the training courses delivered by Standards Australia covering various subject matter including Australian Standard® publications, international standards (including ISO and IEC standards) and other publications. - 3. Licence and Use
- 3.1 By purchasing a Training Course, Standards Australia grants you a single user, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, limited licence to access the Training Content.
- 3.2 Standards Australia is not obliged to provide any refunds for a change-of-mind.
- 3.3 You agree to use the platform in accordance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations (including CPD requirements).
- 3.4 You must not use the platform in any way that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate or in conflict with the purpose of the platform or the Services offered.
- 4. CPD Eligibility and Certificates
- 4.1 Upon completion of a Training Course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
- 4.2 Some Training Courses may be eligible under CPD regimes. You are responsible for understanding and verifying your CPD requirements with your relevant professional body before making any purchase of any Training Couse. Standards Australia does not guarantee that completion of a Training Couse will satisfy CPD requirements for any specific profession or jurisdiction.
- 4.3 Training Course materials may include references to standards published by Standards Australia or other standards development organisations. These references are used under licence or with permission, and users must not reproduce or distribute standards content outside the scope of the training.
- 5. Disclaimer
- 5.1 Training content may reference Australian Standard® and international standards. While every effort is made to ensure accurate and relevant interpretation, Training Courses provided for training and educational purposes only, and is not a substitute for consulting the full text of the relevant standards, seeking professional advice or relying on your own professional judgement.
- 6. Indemnity
- 6.1 You indemnify SA against direct costs and losses we incur due to your use of the Training Course and Services, and any breach of these Terms of Service or your negligence, excluding losses caused by Standards Australia’s own breach, negligence, or misconduct.
- 7. Limitation of Liability
- 7.1 All Services provided are offered without warranties (including accuracy, reliability, currency, or completeness of any content), to the fullest extent permitted by law. Standards Australia is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from your use of the SA Training Platform or any Training Course.
- 7.2 To the extent that Standards Australia is liable to provide a remedy for failure to comply with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, your exclusive remedies will be either
- (a) A refund of the Training Course fees; or
- (b) Re-supply of the Training Course.
- 7.3 Nothing in these Terms or Service excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.
- 8. Links to external websites
- 8.1 The SA Training Platform website may contain links to external websites for your convenience. These links do not imply endorsement or approval of the content, products, or services offered by those sites. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from your use of external sites.
- 8.2 You may link to our homepage or articles, provided the link does not imply any association, endorsement, or approval unless expressly agreed in writing. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission at any time.
