Consumer Reference Guides

Consumer Reference Guides (CRG) help make Australian StandardsTM more accessible for consumers and end users. Created for non‑commercial use, they are designed to raise awareness of standards and support informed decision‑making when buying or using products and services.

Each CRG is a clear, plain‑language summary of a Standards Australia publication. They explain what a standard covers, why it matters, and how it may apply in everyday situations. This makes it easier for consumers and end users to identify whether a relevant standard exists and to understand its role. The guides do not include detailed technical requirements and are not a replacement for the full standard. Businesses and professionals who need to demonstrate or verify compliance should always refer to the complete publication.

Guides will continue to be added as they are developed, in line with their referenced standard. However, if you think there is a standard that we should be producing a guide for now – please let us know

Guides

All CRGs are available at no cost via the links below. Each guide also includes a QR code that provides access to the full text of the standard through our Reader Room for personal, domestic or household use.
