Standards Australia Training accelerates AI capability with two new courses built for real-world application

May 19, 2026

Statements

Standards Australia has expanded its online training offering with the launch of two new AI courses, creating a practical, standards‑aligned series designed to support confident and responsible AI adoption across industries.

The new courses, Developing Responsible AI Systems and Understanding DataCentric AI, build on Standards Australia’s existing Understanding the AI Management System Standard course. Together, the three courses form a connected learning pathway that helps organisations move from AI principles and standards to real‑world application.

As organisations increasingly adopt AI systems across regulated, high‑assurance and commercial environments, the need for practical guidance grounded in recognised standards continues to grow. The expanded training suite is designed to support leaders, practitioners and decision‑makers at different stages of AI maturity, while maintaining a consistent focus on trust, governance and real‑world outcomes.

Adam Stingemore, Chief Development Officer at Standards Australia, said the new courses respond directly to what organisations are looking for as AI adoption accelerates.

“We’re seeing strong demand for AI training that goes beyond theory or hype,” Mr Stingemore said. “These courses are about helping organisations apply AI responsibly and with confidence, using standards as a practical foundation for real organisational decisions.”

Each course in the suite addresses a distinct but complementary capability:

  • Developing Responsible AI Systems focuses on ethical, safe and trustworthy AI, supporting leaders and governance teams to embed accountability, risk management and responsible practices into AI systems.
  • Understanding DataCentric AI explores the critical role data plays in AI outcomes, helping professionals reduce bias, strengthen performance and improve trust through better data practices.
  • Understanding the AI Management System Standard (AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023) supports organisations seeking to understand and implement the global AI management system standard, providing a strong foundation for compliance and assurance.

While each course can be taken independently, they are designed to work together as a cohesive learning pathway, supporting organisations to build AI capability across governance, data and standards‑based management.

All three courses are delivered online and designed for immediate application, with short, focused modules developed alongside subject‑matter experts, including The Australian National University. The training reflects Standards Australia’s broader role in supporting safer, smarter and more sustainable outcomes through standards and practical capability‑building.

The expanded AI training series is now available via Standards Australia Training, supporting organisations to move from AI curiosity to confident, informed adoption.
