It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of David Michel, a long time staff member and contributor to the standards development process.David’s great impact was in the fire protection sector where he spent many years as Executive Officer of the Fire Standards Coordination Group. David led many significant and often controversial projects within the sector and was a fierce advocate of fire protection, including through codes and standards in Australia and around the world.David’s legacy in fire protection across Australia is one of great strength, deeply respected by his industry colleagues.  Our thoughts are with David’s family at this difficult time.
