IEC Young Professionals Programme
Are you an emerging leader in the energy or electrotechnology industry? Ready to represent Australia on the global stage and help shape the future of international standards?
Each year, Standards Australia selects two Australians participants to take part in the IEC Young Professionals (YP) Programme - a unique opportunity for early-career professionals to engage with international experts, build leadership skills and contribute to the development of global standards.
Successful applicants will attend the IEC YP workshop, held alongside the IEC General Meeting, taking place from 16 to 20 November 2026 in Hamburg, Germany. Beyond the workshop, participants will be invited to join a series of ongoing activities designed to strengthen engagement, expand professional networks and support knowledge sharing at an international level.
This programme offers valuable, firsthand experience in international standardisation, while providing a platform to collaborate with industry peers, gain global exposure and develop the skills needed to become future leaders in standards development.

Eligibility
- Aged between early 20s to mid-30s
- Some experience of standard development or the use of standards in the context of conformity assessment
- Employed by a business, industry, association orgovernment body that uses, benefits or contributes tothe work of the IEC
