Open for consultation
We are currently seeking input on the proposed withdrawal of the following aged documents:
Inactive technical committee standards: Documents where no existing active committee is available to provide input.
This consultation period starts on Monday 10 October 2022 and ends on Monday 12 December 2022.
If an Australian Standard on the list is still being used in your industry or community and you object to its withdrawal, we want to hear from you. Please email the
Aged Standards Team specifying which standard (number, title and publication year) and justification for your concerns.
Where objections to withdraw Aged Standards are raised, Standards Australia will assess the objections and, where necessary, undertake further consultation with relevant stakeholders, before reaching a final determination on the most appropriate action to be taken.
Where there are no objections, Standards Australia will progress with the withdrawal of the proposed Aged Standards.
To review the list, please see the spreadsheet.
What happens when a standard is withdrawn?
The withdrawn status does not impact the document’s availability, or public’s ability to use the document. Withdrawn standards can still be purchased from our distributors.
The withdrawn status indicates that the standard is no longer relevant. Standards Australia will not undertake further work to maintain or update a withdrawn standard.
It is still possible for a withdrawn standard to be used within an industry or reference by a government if they choose to do so. One reason for this may be because there are no replacement technical documents readily available.
Status of Aged Standards Review
The outcome for aged documents that were released for nine weeks’ public consultation can be found in this
